Everywhere You Look

There are seemingly endless choices of stock imagery art directors can choose from. So why is it that the same models seem to crop up over and over again?

The best known example is the “Everywhere Girl.” And I hope she was paid a fortune because her likeness is all over the web.

In fact, her image caused a bit of a ruckus about a year and half ago when she appeared on both the Dell and the Gateway sites simultaneously.

Here are some screen shots of those two appearances:

But like the Energizer Bunny, her image keeps going, and going, and going…

She carries a Visa card:

She travels by Greyhound:

She uses The UPS Store:

She suffers from jet lag:

She goes to Penn State:

But she seems to have dropped out from Penn State in favor of a more religious education:

Art directors, be forewarned. If you’re doing an image search and run into the “Everywhere Girl,” you best keep on searching. Otherwise your client will wonder, “haven’t I seen her somewhere before...”
