Happy Birthday

It was my birthday earlier this month, so you know what that means, right?

Yes, I got my annual birthday card from Bank of Marin.

I wrote about Bank of Marin a couple of months ago when I saw their last statement stuffer.

It wasn’t a surprise to see the birthday card because they send it every year, but it did remind me that Bank of Marin does a really good job taking advantage of low-cost/high-leverage marketing activities.

Look, a birthday card doesn’t take all that much effort, but how many companies that you do business with even bother. If you know a client’s birthday, why not send a card?

If you do, take a cue from this card:

As you can see, it isn’t the usual tacky promotional junk. Everyone at my local branch (or everyone who was there the day they sign cards) personally signed the card.

So thanks Sharon, Cathy, Jaime, Reni, Pedro, Edgar, and the two of you with illegible handwriting. Much appreciated.
